Gas Safe Registered Engineers - Accreditations

Dove Catering work is carried out by Gas Safe Registered engineers. Currently all of our engineers are CORGI registered, CORGI being the current body that overseas Gas Safe regulations. However, from April 2009, there will be a new official regulator.

The Gas Safe Register, which will be overseen by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), will be the new official body. The register which is run by the company, Captiva, will come into effect from April 2009 and there will be no transition between existing CORGI engineers and the new requirement. It is therefore imperative that existing gas engineers transfer their registration to the new body by this date.

Why the change?

CORGI has regulated gas engineers and fitters successfully in the UK for over 15 years. It was felt that the gas fitting industry was ready for a change so bids were invited for a new successor. The changes will include a new more easily recognisable logo (see inset) and an improvement in services and standards. The new register will also be geared to heighten consumer awareness about gas installation safety.

How does this affect Dove Catering?

Dove Catering are fully aware of the changes and are already geared to transfer over to the new register by this date. We feel that properly accredited Gas Safe Registered engineers forms the foundation of our business philosophy couple with flexibility and high levels of customer service. So, you the customer should always have the peace of mind then when you book Dove Catering for any contract, our qualifications are right up to date.
